The Bidens have demonstrated a legendary ability to evade legal accountability. Even in the face of overwhelming evidence, members of the Biden family often mobilize their political allies and the media to derail or shut down investigations. darling offers.
The Bidens swim through scandal with the ease and agility of a bottlenose dolphin. Of his plagiarism scandal to his the role of the brother in the murder of a man Because of his son’s various federal crimes, the Bidens have long been a wonder in Washington.
It turns out that this may be a family trait acquired over generations through natural selection.
A historian recently discovered that Joe Biden’s great-great-grandfather, Moses J. Robinette, was charged and convicted of attempted murder. The affair followed a surprisingly familiar pattern.
Fittingly, Robinette was a government contractor. He was paid to provide veterinary care to horses for the Union Army during the Civil War, accepting the position after his hotel burned down.
At 42, Robinette looked like her great-great-grandson. He was married and described as “full of fun, always lively and joking”. But the good times ended on March 21, 1864 in Beverly Ford, Virginia, Robinette got into a fight with another contractor, John J. Alexander, who overheard Robinette saying it to a cook. When Alexander confronted him, Robinette pulled out a knife and, in the ensuing fight, cut Alexander several times.
This was an early version of President Biden’s speech. “corn pop” story where he faced off against a gang member wielding a straight razor. However, in this version, “the Bad Dude” was a wagon master, and it was the Biden family member who wielded the knife. Robinette left Alexander bleeding from several cuts. His trial heard he was drunk and had instigated “a dangerous quarrel”. (It appears that at the time it was Biden arguing over what truly constitutes “incitement.”)
Robinette argued no intent to commit murder, insisting that “I had no malice toward Mr. Alexander before or since.” He grabbed me and could have seriously injured me if I hadn’t resorted to the means I used.
This argument would make Abby Lowell blush, since there was no proof that Alexander had even been armed. Robinette was convicted of attempted murder and sentenced to two years of hard labor.
It was then that the affair took another familiar turn. Robinette’s friends interceded with the army and powerful political figures.
There were long delays. It took the commander of the Army of the Potomac, General George G. Meade, three months to confirm Robinette’s conviction. His friends then turned to Waitman T. Willey, the West Virginia senator who fought for Biden, who lobbied President Abraham Lincoln’s private secretary, John G. Nicolay, who then relied on the Judge Advocate General, Joseph Holt, to send on a full report and account of the case.
Biden associates argued that although Robinette was the only person armed, the victim was a truck driver “far superior in strength and size, all driven by the excitement of the moment.”
They implored Lincoln to “think of his orphaned daughters and sons at home!” … (Praying for) your interposition on behalf of the unfortunate Father… and the distressed family of the beloved children, the Daughters of the Union and the Sons of the Union.
Their final argument was one that was typically Biden. They told Lincoln that he was an “ardent and influential…political ally in opposition to traitors and their plans to destroy the government.” (It appears that even then the Bidens were union men.)
It worked. Lincoln was known for his leniency in matters of pardon, and he signed a “Pardon for the Unexecuted Part of the Punishment.” A. Lincoln. on September 1, 1864. Robinette was a free man.
Robinette was therefore found guilty at trial of seriously injuring an unarmed man, but he was freed with the help of a US senator, on the grounds that he was a loyal political ally.
Whatever the true merits, it showed the importance of having friends in high places. Or, as the president once put it more bluntly, “Nobody fucks with a Biden.” It is a family scripture that goes from Moses to James via Joseph.
Sixty years later, a special counsel discovered that Moses’ great-great-grandson had deliberately kept classified documents, mishandled them for decades, and probably showed the documents to a ghostwriter who had not authorization. He was spared any criminal charges, in part because he would make a sympathetic defendant due to his diminished mental faculties.
As if that were not enough, his political allies are mobilizing alongside him to put an end to any corruption investigation, while calling his detractors “traitors” and “Putin lovers”.
After charges were filed against a former FBI agent for his false allegations regarding President Biden’s corruption, Democratic operatives and media figures have gone into conspiracy theory mode to shut down any further investigation into the Biden family.
Rep. Dan Goldman (D-N.Y.) went so far as to declare that anyone currently investigating the Biden corruption scandal is by definition “a well-known Russian intelligence asset” and “acting like an agent of Vladimir Putin.”
This is obviously completely absurd. The charges against Alexander Smirnov have no bearing on dozens of alleged corrupt payments and hundreds of emails that are under congressional investigation. Try asking the Bidens about the millions they pocketed from foreign sources, and you’re something of a Russian dupe.
NBC News Correspondent Ken Dilanian Is Absurd declared that the long-denied letter from intelligence officials claiming that Hunter Biden’s laptop is fake and part of a Russian disinformation campaign must now be accepted as true. He must have forgotten that the laptop was separately authenticated, regardless of Smirnov’s lies.
Not only do Biden allies want to shut down any further discussion of family corruption, but former Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill has expressed her anger. required for the media to stop fact-checking Biden on any subject. She had already attacked witnesses denouncing Biden’s censorship system, notably calling certain people “Putin lovers.”
It really doesn’t have much to do with the Russians. This is what the Bidens do best.
When Hunter previously threatened a Chinese businessman by warning him that his father was “sitting next to” him and waiting for money, Hunter stressed that he should tell the head of his company that “the Bidens are the best at doing exactly what the president wants. »
After generations, the Bidens still demonstrate the same agile qualities as great-great-grandfather Moses. Indeed, they could replace the legend on their family crest with “Manus manum lavat”, “one hand washes the other”.
