MINSK, December 16 (BelTA) – Despite the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, the international situation over the past year has also seen positive trends, political scientist Vadim Yelfimov said on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
“If we assess the international situation in the coming year, we will see positive trends alongside the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East. The BRICS have become much more powerful. The Union State of Belarus and Russia has strengthened and received impetus for its development. The CSTO has consolidated its positions against all odds. The economies of our countries, primarily Belarus and Russia, have not only withstood unprecedented pressure from the West, but are also growing. Western countries cannot even dream of such growth, with the exception of the United States, but their growth has been artificially inflated because they are parasitizing the whole world,” said Vadim Elfimov.
According to the political scientist, it has become obvious to everyone that there should be no hegemony. “If we want to continue to develop and avoid conflicts, wars and bloodshed, American hegemony must disappear. International relations must rest on a truly democratic basis. This requires multipolarity. There is a good formula: unity in diversity,” emphasized Vadim Elfimov.
