House Republicans heard explosive testimony from President Joe Biden’s family business partners at a public hearing Wednesday that confirmed the president’s personal involvement in global schemes to sell his influence over the U.S. government.
Tony Bobulinski, a former family associate turned whistleblower who said Lawmakers President Biden was the “brand” sold to foreign governments, doubling down on accusations of corruption and giving sworn testimony in public.
“I want to be very clear: Based on my direct personal experience and what I subsequently learned, it is clear to me that Joe Biden was ‘the brand’ being sold by the Biden family,” Bobulinski told lawmakers . “His family’s foreign influence peddling operations – from China to Ukraine and elsewhere – sold out to foreign actors who sought to gain influence and access to Joe Biden and the US government. »
Lawmakers introduced Bobulinski alongside Jason Galanis after closed-door depositions with the two witnesses. Devon Archer, another former business partner, and Hunter Biden also participated in closed-door depositions to House committees but declined congressional invitations to testify in public.
His lawyers had previously demanded a public hearing in exchange for Hunter Biden’s cooperation with congressional subpoenas. Then Biden’s lawyer, Abbe Lowell suddenly asked Lawmakers are holding a public hearing to investigate the business practices of his former client, Jared Kushner, that may violate legal ethics rules. If House Republicans held a public hearing with Kushner, Lowell wrote in a letter last week: “Mr. Biden would consider an invitation for this event.”
House Republicans are considering whether to draft articles of impeachment against President Biden for selling the use of his political positions to foreign oligarchs. House investigators found more than 20 shell companies created by the Biden family to channel Tens of millions dollars from business leaders of adversary countries. Witnesses said Wednesday that President Biden was at the center of the family’s efforts to reap profits overseas.
“The Bidens are selling Joe Biden. It’s their business,” James Comer, chairman of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, said at the start of the hearing on “Influence Peddling: Examining Joe Biden’s Abuses of Public Office.” “.
Testifying from prison, Galanis said the Bidens aimed to make “billions, not millions” by selling political favors to oligarchs in China and Russia. Galanis currently serves a 14 years old prison sentence for securities fraud, which Galanis said Last month, lawmakers also implicated Archer and Hunter Biden.
Democratic Obstruction
Democrats spent Wednesday’s hearing trying to obstruct the impeachment proceedings by repeatedly interrupting themselves to insist that Republicans had no proof Those responsible for influence peddling claim to have “exonerated” the president. Their hand-picked witness, Lev Parnas, also a convicted felon, even went so far as to claim that he “found precisely no evidence of Biden corruption in Ukraine.”
On the contrary, House and Senate investigators found bank receipts, White House Visitor Logs, testimonials from Biden’s business partners, text messagesand other documents indicating that the Biden family sold the name and position of its patriarch to foreign oligarchs, including several in Ukraine.
Yet Democrats continued their stunt campaign to delay, disrupt and cancel the hearing. When members learned about text messages about the Biden family business on Bobulinski’s cracked Blackberry phone, Democrats, led by Raskin, made a motion to subpoena the device.
Bobulinski had previously offered to show the text messages to members who wanted to see them, so Jordan quickly countered with a motion to table. Comer agreed but was forced to wait for a clerk to record a formal vote before continuing.
Much to Democrats’ dismay, recorded member votes piled up in favor of the filing.
After a delay of several minutes, Rep. Gerry Connolly of Virginia asked Bobulinski if he would turn over his phone to the committee.
“I’m willing to sit in a room with the president and the ranking member with my phone and their staff and we can go through every text message,” Bobulinski said.
New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez then asked Bobulinski if he had seen the president commit a crime, to which Bobulinski responded with an emphatic “Yes.”
“What crime?” » Cortez insisted.
“Well, how long do I have to spend?” Bobulinsky replied.
