WASHINGTON—Today, House Oversight and Accountability Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) issued additional subpoenas to Hunter Biden’s business associates Eric Schwerin and Mervyn Yan, his gallery owner , George Bergès, and to the patron of the arts, Elizabeth Naftali, to appear for depositions. Additionally, Chairman Comer requested a transcribed interview with the administrator of Americore Holdings, LLC regarding the “loans” received by the Bidens.
“The House Oversight Committee is working hard as we investigate President Joe Biden’s central role in his family’s domestic and international business dealings. Yesterday, the House Oversight Committee subpoenaed the president’s son, Hunter Biden, his brother, James Biden, and other Biden family associates linked to the evidence package obtained by that committee. A plethora of bank statements, texts, emails and a transcribed interview with Biden family associate Devon Archer all show that the Bidens and their business partners sold access to the highest levels of our government, including Joe Biden himself, to the detriment of American interests. » » said President Comer. “Americans across the country have made it clear to President Joe Biden, the Biden family and their associates that the gig is over. On November 8, President Comer issued subpoenas to President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, his brother, James Biden, and Biden family associate Rob Walker. According to financial records obtained Per the House Oversight Committee, the Biden family created more than 20 shell companies — most of which were created when Joe Biden was president — in a concerted effort to hide payments from foreign adversaries. The Biden family, their associates and businesses have received more than $24 million from China, Russia, Ukraine, Romania and Kazakhstan.
The House Oversight Committee identified two checks described as “loan repayments” from James and Sara Biden to Joe Biden that were funded by money laundered in China And influence peddling schemes at the national level. In 2018, James Biden received $600,000 in loans from Americore, a financially troubled and bankrupt rural hospital operator. According to Americore bankruptcy court documentsJames Biden received these loans “based on representations that his last name, ‘Biden,’ could ‘open doors’ and that he could obtain significant investment from the Middle East based on his political connections.”
The House Oversight Committee is also investigating the sale of the president’s son’s prized artwork. Hunter Biden’s art dealer, George Bergès, failed repeatedly to respond to the Committee’s requests for transcription of interviews and information relating to high-value art transactions on Hunter Biden’s art.
