Republicans on the verge of entering the Senatepublished at 5:09 a.m. Greenwich Mean Time

With the defeat of incumbent Senator Sherrod Brown in Ohio, Democrats’ chances of retaining control of the Senate diminish.
The party lost two seats, and a third – Jon Tester in Montana – is in grave danger. Without Democratic succession elsewhere, the House will turn to the Republicans.
At this point, it’s hard to find a race in which Democrats have much hope.
Florida and Texas, the two races that were remotely competitive, are already ruled out. Independent Dan Osborne narrowly trails Republican incumbent Deb Fischer in Nebraska with 69%. However, it’s not even clear whether Osborne would join Democrats in the Senate if he wins.
And if Donald Trump wins the presidency, with a tie-breaking vote in the Senate for Vice President JD Vance, it won’t matter what happens in Nebraska.
This is shaping up to be a very good night for the Republicans.
