Miami – Republican candidates won two special elections in Congress in Florida, helping the GOP to keep its majority in the American house.
In the first district of the Panhandle Congress in Florida, the former state director of the State, Jimmy Patronis, beat Gay Democrat Valimont. In the sixth district, along the east coast of Florida, former state senator Randy Fine beat Democrat Josh Weil.
Republicans have a substantial recording advantage in the two districts. But the results were much closer than those observed in November, suggesting that voters are not satisfied with the Republicans, President Trump and his program.
In the first district of the Pensacola region, the member of the Republican Congress Matt Gaetz beat Valimont of 32 points in November. President Trump appointed Gaetz to be his attorney general. Gaetz retired later and left the congress, leaving its headquarters open. Patronis jumped into the race but was strongly scored by Valimont, who attracted the support of Democrats across the country. The margin of victory of patronis was approximately 15 percentage points, 17 points less than that observed by Gaetz in November.
In the sixth district of the center of Florida, Fine beat Weil about 14 points. It is a much narrower margin than that observed by Mike Waltz of Congress then in November. Waltz beat his 33 -point democratic opponent. He left the vacant headquarters when he was appointed national security advisor to Trump. Weil collected ten times more money for his campaign than fine and the Democrats hoped that they could win a victory in a red neighborhood.
Despite the losses, the Democrats celebrate what they call “historical performances”.
The president of the State Democratic Party, Nikki Fried, said: “Florida democrats have just put the republican party in opinion. Tonight’s results represent historical outperformance for Democrats and show that voters are already rejecting Trump’s extreme agenda. “”
President Trump approved the two Republican candidates. Tuesday evening, Clearly highlighted Trump’s publication of social media on victory, adding: “Because of you, Mr. President. I will not let you fall.”
