US President Donald Trump announced that he was imposing prices on the three largest American trade partners – Canada, Mexico and China – from Saturday. The White House says it will implement a 25% tax on imports from Canada and Mexico and a 10% tax on goods from China. Trump also threatened the EU with similar measures, but offered no clear calendar. Trump had promised the measure to stimulate local manufacturing in the United States and put pressure on his neighbors to do more to stop the flow of illegal migrants and drugs in the country. Canada and Mexico said they were ready to fight back. But analysts say that the American tax will probably wear a hard blow for Mexico – the second economy in Latin America. 00:00 Us Impooes Tariffs On Its Bigest Trading Partners 03:53 DW Speaks with Kimberly Clausing at the Ucla School of Law 08:31 DW Speaks with John Kirton, Professor of Political Science at the University of Toronto for More News Go to: http://www.dw.dww.com/ for More news, analysis and background information on the German election 2025 go to our dedicated page: https://www.dw.dww.com/en/german-election-2025/t-70794502 Follow DW on social media: ►instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dwnews ►tiktok: https://ww.tiktok.com/@dwnews ►facebook: https://www.facebook.com/deutschewelleWs/ ►twitter: https://twitter.com/dwnews für Videos in Deutscher Sprache Besuchen Sie: https://www.youtube.com/dwdeutsch Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/useschewellengish?sub_Confirmation=1 #usa #trump #tariffs (Tagstotranslate) Dw News
