The holidays are a special moment at the White House and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden loves to bring family, friends and special guests around to see the festive decor. While their home will be filled with their children and grandchildren this Christmas, there is one member of the Biden family who loves this season most of all.
Willow, Joe and Jill Biden’s three-year-old tabby cat, may be the most mischievous of them all. She was rescued by the first couple after becoming captivated by one of the first lady’s speeches in a barn. “She came and sat in the chair and listened to the speech,” Jill said during a visit to the White House with a pet site, The Dodo.

Willow helped Jill guide the producer through the halls of the White House where the “very affectionate” cat got into some trouble. “Willow, you have snow on your fur,” as her mother brushed the fake snow off her fur baby’s coat. And then the cat started using some Styrofoam snow as a scratching post. “Let’s not do that. This is White House behavior,” he joked. The Dodothe executive producer of. There is even an adorable statue of Willow curled up near one of the trees that the cat didn’t seem to like.
And of course, Willow received gifts from The Dodowho understood lots of mice and catnip toys. She quickly showed off her chubby belly and sorted through the gift box – it was a big success. Willow first arrived at the White House in January 2022 and is named after the first lady’s hometown, Willow Grove, Pennsylvania.

Bush’s cat, India, and many people remember Bill Clinton’s cat, Socks. But it looks like Willow has plenty of cattitude to carry on the legacy and hopefully stay off Santa’s naughty list.
