President Biden is lucky in a perverse way: The chaos his policies cause abroad helps ease the pressure on him and his family at home.
His coddling of Iran triggered Hamas’s horrific assault on Israel; the resulting war took the headlines out of the newspapers. his son Hunter’s influence peddling operationincluding the first concrete evidence of how he put money in Joe’s pocket.
But Rep. Jim Comer, who is leading the ongoing impeachment inquiry against the president, is still in office.
“This is going to be a big week,” the Kentucky Republican said over the weekend.
He hinted that other ugly financial revelations regarding the Biden family mafia will be coming – as well as other subpoenas.
This is much needed, especially given the most recent document revealed by Comer’s House Oversight Committee.
It turns out that brother James paid Joe Biden $40,000 in cash from Chinese energy company CEFC before following a winding path through a series of entities owned by the Biden family.
The check refutes the repeated assertion on the left that Biden himself never directly benefited from it Hunter’s shady dealings.
And it’s true even if it was a authentic James-to-Joe loan repayment, as Biden media flacks and lapdogs insist. (The president refuses to provide proof.)
James had the money to repay the “loan” because he and Hunter cashed in big on the family name.
And that comes on top of everything the other abundant documentation revealed by the committeeproving time and time again that the President lied at every step about the extent of his financial involvement with Hunter.
Incoming House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) has yet to formally support Biden’s impeachment.
But his election means the House GOP can take that action if necessary.
How much could Biden’s being visibly and indelibly implicated in his son’s corruption damage his credibility at this crucial moment? (TRUE, he didn’t have much left.)
But expect Democrats and the media establishment to go from a “non-smoking gun” defense to: “How dare they attack the president over years-old events when he is now facing no not one but two open wars?
Probably with a subtext of “Do they really want to Kamala Harris I take over now?
The fact is, however, that this actually provides yet another reason for him to drop out of the 2024 race while his party still has time to choose a new standard-bearer.
After all, the party is already turning against him.
