Palestinians accuse genocide in US court; Biden and Blinken prosecuted for supporting Israeli war on Gaza

On Friday, Biden administration lawyers argued the court lacked the proper jurisdiction to decide the case, while Palestinians and Americans testified about atrocities committed by Israel with U.S. support. “I cannot think of another time when, in a US federal court, Palestinians took the witness stand, one after another, describing their experiences under Israeli occupation,” said Diala Shamas, senior lawyer of the court. Center for Constitutional Rights, which filed suit against President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin in November. “Being Palestinians in America requires our involvement in this matter,” said Laila El-Haddad, a Palestinian writer who testified in court about her family’s experience under Israeli assault. “It requires us to do everything we can to take every possible recourse, including legal recourse, to try to put a stop to this, since it is our tax money.” Democracy now! is an independent global news hour broadcast on more than 1,500 television and radio stations Monday through Friday.
