FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – The presidential election has caused a significant increase in stress for many people across the country.
People stressed by presidential politics increased from 52% in 2016 to 69% in 2024.
Politics is among the top topics that many find to be a source of stress in their daily lives.
A doctor at Meridian Behavioral Health says many of his patients have turned to alcohol and drugs.
But he hopes they can get through it.
“A lot of people feel very marginalized as we go down this path. And you know, all we can do is see our neighbors, see our family members, see our friends and see them as people,” said Dr. Lew Zeidner, CEO of Meridian Behavioral Health.
