A newly released Rasmussen survey Watch the voters massively supports the preventing non-citizens from participating in the American elections. The keyword there is “prevented” because the law already says that only American citizens are authorized to vote in the federal elections. But in many cases, non-citizens have fraudulently filed voting bulletins, throwing our results and destabilizing confidence in the electoral system.
This month, Logan Washburn, correspondent for elections with the federalist, reported Of 15 probable non-citizens who voted in Michigan. It may seem a small number, but it is one case among many, and it is enough to influence the narrow elections.
The easy solution is to demand that everyone is registered to vote to provide proof of citizenship from the United States. This is the simple objective of the “safeguarding of the eligibility of American voters” (SAVE) Act, which has recently been adopted in the Chamber and must now erase the Senate.
The Save Act, sponsored by the representative Chip Roy, R-Texas, requires the recording and documentation of voters in person proving American citizenship by showing real identification, an American passport, a military identification, a birth certificate or other forms of identification.
In a national telephone and online survey of 1,048 probable voters, Rasmussen asked: “What is the importance of preventing illegal immigrants from voting in the American elections?” An overwhelming majority, 75%, said it was important.
Rasmussen asked a second question: “Should Congress promulgate a law requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote in the national elections?” The results were similar, with 64% saying yes and 11% not sure.
It is difficult to understand why someone would be against this basic stage towards the integrity of the elections, but the left makes overtime to prevent the adoption of the Save Act, distribute lies like married women who change their names will not be able to vote.
The correspondent for the federalist elections Brianna Lyman note 208 The Democrats of the Chamber voted against the Save Act. The total voting of the House was 220 for and 208 against Save. This means that 49% of the room voted against the Save Act, while 75% of the public supports it.
In other words, only four Democrats voted for the act – less than 2% of the Democrats in the Chamber voted for something that 75% of Americans wanted.
Not supporting the safeguarding act is more pathetic proof that Democrats are not interested in serving their voters. Perhaps the Democrats of the Senate will approach the association of the wishes of the public on this issue.
