Washington (AP) – A federal judge who ordered the Trump administration To stop blocking the Associated Press of presidential events, refused on Friday to take immediate measures so that the managers of the White House comply – additional development in a two -month dispute between the World news agency and the administration officials on access.
The case, which has important implications on free-discourse within the framework of the first amendment of the American Constitution, focuses on the government blocking AP access to coverage events because the point of sale will not rename the Gulf of Mexico in his reports.

The decision comes after a new press policy in the White House
For two months, the White House essentially prohibited AP journalists and photographers of their traditional spot covering events in smaller spaces like the Oval Office and Air Force One. In court, Tobin said that the new policy is the game designed to reduce the influence of the exit. “We believe that the new policy is really an inch in the nose of the Associated Press and this Court,” he told McFadden.
The White House took clear measures to put into force last week’s decision, said Jane Lyons, an assistant district prosecutor who represented the Trump team. “It is far too early … to say that it is a problem,” said Lyons.

McFadden said that the first days since his order had made it possible for him that Trump’s team “does not comply here, or perhaps malicious compliance”. But the judge, appointed to the court by Trump during the president’s first mandate, said that he should assume that the administration operates in good faith, unless the time proves the opposite.
It was also not influenced by the argument of the AP according to which it is unconstitutional that the president has the only discretion on which covers him during these small events. AP, aware that a dispute over journalists’ access is not likely to move many many public members, has led it as a broader question of freedom of expression.
