President Biden spoke earlier today at a Holocaust Remembrance Day ceremony. Biden condemned those he characterized as having already forgotten the horrors of Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7.
The administration continues to walk a fine line between its unwavering support for Israel and its criticism of choices made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding his operations in Gaza. Over the past 24 hours, Israel has advanced into the southern Gaza community of Rafah, an action that U.S. officials had advised against.
The briefing is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. EDT.
