White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is expected to hold a daily news conference Wednesday afternoon, in the shadow of university protests across the country against the ongoing war in Gaza.
This comes as President Biden is continually criticized for his handling of the war between Israel and Hamas militants, as well as the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Tuesday evening that “the time has come” to reach a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza war, and that it was up to Hamas to accept the proposal and ” compromise” of Israel.
The event is scheduled to begin at 12:45 p.m. EDT.
