Joe Biden’s hopes of being re-elected in November suffered a major blow last week after a report into his handling of classified documents concluded that he was an “elderly, well-meaning man with a poor memory.” Mr Biden’s age, gaffes and apparent mental fragility have been repeatedly targeted and mocked by Donald Trump. Britain’s former ambassador to the US, Lord Kim Darroch, told Trevor Phillips that the Biden campaign must adopt a ‘high-risk’ strategy of getting the president ‘there’ if he wants to win a second term in power.
