“If in fact the United States would want to get out of NATO, that the Senate would play some sort of role in that and that’s what the NDAA basically does that and so, again, that’s in keeping with the Senate’s historic role in foreign policy and I think it’s targeted at ensuring the Senate has a say if Donald Trump’s president again and he’d want to take the United States unilaterally out of NATO,” he said.
