Every election is important, but the 2024 election has a special meaning for me. I will cast a ballot for the first time. What makes this even more exciting is that I get to vote for my mom, Deb Henry, for Marco Island City Council!
My mom is deeply dedicated to her family and her community. Since she retired, she has filled her days with helping others and volunteering her time as much as she can. When she sees a challenge, she is the first to raise her hand to help. When she knows someone needs a helping hand, she is the first one there.
In addition to being a successful businesswoman and running her own business, she is a dedicated mom and volunteer. I am so proud of all she has accomplished in the business world and I am even more excited to see how she can help Marco Island as a member of city council. As we know, all politics is local, and who represents us all on city council is important. I know my mom will listen to all the citizens and help make sure the council understands all sides of an issue before hastily making decisions. One of her many superpowers is being careful with money and stretching those dollars far. She knows how to tackle tough problems and works well with others to solve the most important challenges.
