The white house’s press secretary Karoline Leavitt said that defense secretary Pete Hegseth was doing “tremendous work” and “brings a monumental change to the Pentagon”, who, according to her, had provoked a “defamation campaign” against him.

A journalist asked him to square his comments according to which some of the recently deceased officials from the Pentagon were unhappy and working against Hegseth with the fact that they were part of his inner circle.
“They were Pentagon employees who disclosed their boss,” said Leavitt.
Licensed employees said their character was slandered.
