The White House on Friday lashed out at House Oversight and Accountability Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) for “blatantly lying” about a Hunter Biden benefactor’s testimony Friday .
“Once again, it appears @JamesComer is blatantly lying about closed-door testimony in the Republicans’ baseless, meandering, and unsuccessful so-called ‘impeachment inquiry,'” the statement said. White House spokesperson Ian Sams. wrote in an article on, formerly known as Twitter. “This happened over and over again.”
at Sam’s the message was in reference to a lawyer for Kevin Morris, a friend of President Biden’s son, alleging that House Republicans failed to accurately represent his testimony following a closed-door interview Thursday.
“Your staff and those of the other committees responded that Mr. Morris would be treated fairly,” Bryan Sullivan, Morris’ attorney, wrote in a letter to Comer. “And then you failed to treat Mr. Morris fairly and engaged in your usual practice of partially and inaccurately disclosing a witness’s statements.”
The letter comes alongside complaints from Democrats about Republicans misrepresenting testimony during an investigation into the Biden family’s business dealings and amid their impeachment inquiry into ties to the president.

Came greeted THE Thursday News that Hunter Biden will sit for a closed-door deposition later this month before Comer’s committee and the House Judiciary Committee.
“I think at the end of the day, this is a huge victory for the House Oversight Committee,” Comer said Thursday on Fox News. “This is exactly what we wanted.”
Biden’s agreement to a late February deposition follows his avoidance of an earlier deposition in December, which led lawmakers to threaten him with contempt of Congress.
“Hunter Biden will appear before our committees for a deposition on February 28, 2024. His deposition will come after several interviews with members and associates of the Biden family. We look forward to Hunter Biden’s testimony,” Comer and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) wrote in a statement.
