With a partial government shutdown averted, President Biden’s legislative priorities return to the lingering issues of aid to Israel and Ukraine and funding for border security.
Yesterday during a visit to Brownsville, Texas, Biden said “it is high time for action” on the immigration issue. Republican critics, including former President Trump, who appeared Thursday in Eagle Pass, Texas, actually agreed with that sentiment.
But while GOP leaders blame the delay on Biden himself, the White House is pressuring the House to approve measures already passed in the Senate.
