This week, two key figures in American politics are making headlines, largely because of their age. Yesterday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced her intention to step down as leader of the House Democrats. At 82, Pelosi said it was time for a new generation to lead the House. However, she will keep her seat and Congress, with no plans to retire. On Tuesday, former President Donald Trump made his candidacy for President of the United States official. Trump is 76. He would be 78 if voters gave him another chance at the White House. Trump will spend the next two years on the campaign trail – he won’t be retiring, either. What about the man currently in the White House? Joe Biden has a birthday coming up. On Sunday, the president will turn 80. Some argue that Biden is too old for the job.
