Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin spoke about Virginia’s 2023 election results Wednesday, expressing disappointment that Republicans did not win a majority in the General Assembly, but remaining hopeful that he can work with Democrats . The Republican governor made the remarks during a news conference at the Virginia State Capitol on Wednesday afternoon, the day after Election Day. His update comes as Democrats prepare to hold the Virginia Senate with 21 seats while taking control of the House of Delegates with 51 seats. The election result was also widely seen as a factor in Youngkin making a last-minute entry into the Republican primary for the 2024 presidential election, a move that has long been speculated about in the public sphere. In answering questions from reporters, Youngkin continued to insist that he was focused on Virginia and not the presidential election. “My name is not on the ballot in New Hampshire,” Youngkin said. “I haven’t been to Iowa (and) I’m not in South Carolina. I’m in Virginia and I look forward to staying focused on Virginia like I have been.” Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/user/WVECTV/?sub_confirmation=1 Download the 13News Now app: http://bit.ly/13NewsNowApp Visit our website: https://www.13newsnow .com/ Like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/13NewsNow/ Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/13newsnow Follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram. com/13newsnow/ (tagsToTranslate )(local
