Fox News contributor and legal commentator Andy McCarthy suggested the investigation into the Biden family could result in the president Joe Biden dropping out of the 2024 presidential race during an appearance on The American newsroom Monday.
After airing a clip in which the MSNBC personality and former Biden White House press secretary Jen Psaki noted that Hunter Biden public statements were not “helpful” to the president and the host Dana Perino asked McCarthy if Hunter’s legal strategy might collide with his father’s political strategy.
“Yeah, I think they’ve already collided,” asserted McCarthy. “I mean, the time to worry about what Jen Psaki is talking about was before Hunter was indicted, when they were trying to make this whole thing go away. But now, obviously, he is charged in not one, but two cases. So, you know, he’s going to speak publicly, as is his lawyer. And it’s going to be terrible for the president.”
He continued:
And what I think about the Washington Post report what David was talking about is — I would be very concerned about that. You know, there’s sort of a confluence of events that we’ve seen. You know, David Axelrod says maybe Biden shouldn’t run. There is a Wall Street Journal report this weekend where, you know, it looks like Obama is saying the same thing. Now, two indictments.
And now, this report, what surprised me was not just the details. It’s a 4,000 word report, which means they spent weeks on it. They could have dropped him at any time. And it brings out things that have been vaguely known for years, and that Joe Biden must have thought he had, you know, survived so long ago. And here he is again, just when many prominent Democrats are saying, you know, maybe it’s time for him to step aside.
