Rumors of financial shenanigans have doggedly followed Joe and Hunter Biden for almost as long as there has been dirt, but they’re not the only members of the Biden clan to be tainted in this way.
Following recent testimony on Capitol Hill from Joe’s little brother Jim, who was accused of exploiting the Biden family name for lucrative monetary gain, accusations of foreign influence peddling have also extended to the Jim’s wife, Sara Jones Biden.
Republican lawmakers are particularly interested in subpoenaed bank documents in which Sara wrote nearly a quarter of a million dollars in checks to her brother-in-law Joe for “loan repayment.” What was the origin of these loans and were they linked to secret agreements with China? The House Republican committees want to speak with Sara to get clear information.
The story also shows that Sara and Jim’s champagne tastes on a beer budget led them to form relationships with questionable individuals and companies that resulted in lawsuits and criminal investigations.
While Joe Biden has repeatedly claimed he has never been involved in family business dealings for many years, documents obtained by America First Legal through an FOI request reveal more than 3,700 e -emails generated by then-Vice President Biden with Sara and Jim’s company, Lion Hall Group. . It’s a lot to talk about something.
In 2018, the lovely couple was introduced to the founder of Americore Health, which needed funding to expand a network of rural hospitals. The Bidens said their Lion Hall group could spur investment. In turn, they obtained a $650,000 personal loan, while Americore Health filed for bankruptcy in 2019, laid off hundreds of employees and filed suit against the Bidens for false promises. Eventually, the FBI was even called in to investigate the matter.
Meanwhile, in August 2017, her caring nephew, Hunter Biden, began transferring large sums of money to Aunt Sara and Uncle Jimmy. The money came from CEFC China Energy; but in exchange for what? In 2018, funds totaled $1.4 million. Republicans would love to know more about Hunter’s generosity.
On August 14, 2017, Hunter sent $150,000 to Lion Hall. On August 28, Sara withdrew $50,000 from the Lion Hall account and deposited it into a personal account held by her and her husband Jim.
Then, on September 3, 2017, she wrote a $40,000 personal check to Joe Biden for “loan repayment.” That figure happens to be 10 percent of the $400,000 mentioned in an arrangement Hunter made with Dad Joe and mentioned in an email on his discarded laptop.
A second personal check for $200,000 was written to Joe by Sara on March 1, 2018, the same day her husband Jim received $200,000 from Americore. This check was also intended for “loan repayment”. It can happen to anyone and is casually summed up by the White House as a “smear campaign.”
Hunter’s bank, Wells Fargo, disagrees, citing possible financial crimes and money laundering. Additionally, the Treasury Department has issued a series of suspicious activity reports. To date, Sara has provided no credible explanation as House investigators continue to investigate.
Sara, Jim and Hunter Biden also used a $100,000 line of credit from CEFC in September 2017 to embark on “a global shopping spree extravaganza.” It’s always nice to have rich Chinese friends!
In what world does such activity pass the smell test? For members of the same family who possess so little financial management prowess and demonstrate it repeatedly, Sara, Jim and Hunter Biden have defied all logic by continually attracting large sums of money from a multitude of people who should have known better. Even if Joe didn’t know anything about it.
All this proves that the family that stays together enriches itself together.
