Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) is the unexpected MAGA. In 2021, is reflected on After the Jan. 6 riots, she said Trump’s “entire legacy had been wiped out.” He called her RINO and supported his main opponent in 2022. And their breakup was complete. But somewhere on the road to Washington DC, Mace stopped kicking against the pricks, got rid of the scales from his eyes and took Lord Trump to his heart. His conversion, like Saul’swas complete and absolute.
His feeling of shame faded. She will say anything to promote her cause, whatever it may be. Maybe she’s hoping her thirty silver coins will be the nod from the vice president. Whatever her reward, she’s determined to earn it, no matter how deep she has to dive into the sewers.
Today on Maria Bartiromo’s Fox Business show Mornings with Maria, mass expressed his feelings on the closed-door depositions and his assessment that the Biden crime family was best at converting their influence into cash.
The conversation began with Bartiromo asking Mace why Hunter Biden’s offer to testify publicly was to his advantage. Macé replied:
“Well, certainly, and Hunter Biden shouldn’t get any special treatment here at all. But the biggest difference is that when we have these public hearings of the House Oversight Committee or the Judiciary Committee, members of Congress only have five minutes each in turn. That’s it.
But when you give a deposition, attorneys, members, and staff are involved. You sit there for hours. This could last all day. You get a lot more information that you can then bring out in a public hearing. So, Hunter Biden, what are you so afraid of?
Republicans are consummate sophists – with short memories. I am not familiar with the House rules regarding committee hearings. But I imagine the majority party (the GOP) has a lot of flexibility. Consider that Hillary Clinton testified for 11 hours during his inquisition in Benghazi – this must solve the “all day” problem.
As for lawyers, there are 14 within the Committee. So that should allay that worry. True, only six of them are Republicans. And members like Lauren Boebert, Paul Gosar and Majorie Greene will need help if the Committee is to make the law a primary consideration.
I’m kidding. Mace’s lawyer concerns are just a distraction from the political bloodlust that is the real motivation of the Republican Party.
Mace then explained what she would look for in Hunter’s deposition:
“I want to know where all the bodies are buried. I want to know how these companies were created and layered, where the money was, came from China and how it got to the United States, how it got to the different members of the Biden family. Where was Joe Biden? How was he involved? What kind of corruption? WhatsApp messages, emails, SMS.
This wish list is proof that Mace isn’t serious. The Committee has subpoena power. And the Supreme Court given Congress space to carry out this type of investigative mission. Banks have financial records. States have business registries. Social media and communications companies have their records.
If any of these entities had anything damning, the Committee would already have it. And Comer would have been on Fox to announce it instead of peddling weak tea that he claims is champagne. They have been working on it for ten months. The results? Nada. But Mace won’t let facts get in the way of his crusade.
Bartiromo then escalated the ass-kissing and asked about the extent of the Biden family’s venality.
“You did an incredible job. You and James Comer, revealing some things we had no idea about. How much money do you think the Biden family has pocketed at this point?
Mace then chose a number at random, flashy enough to get her the attention she desires.
“Oh, well, it’s north of $50 million. The amount of money that we’re talking about and that we’ve seen in the suspicious activity reports, the amount of money that has been laundered through this family, through their corruption, is going to be greater than that.
And I think those are significant amounts. And, you know, it was cash? Was it a credit card? How was this done? Where did Joe Biden access the money? All of these things can come out of the testimony of people like Hunter Biden and his affiliates.
I’m confused. Mace says the GOP has evidence of suspicious activity and money laundering – but she doesn’t know if it was cash or credit cards? I have to believe that when a bank publishes a suspicious activity report, it provides certain details, such as the amount and nature of the transactions that led to the suspicions.
But Mace wasn’t finished.
” And that’s just the beginning. I want to bring in the accountant. I want to bring in other witnesses and whistleblowers. There are so many different points in this investigation. This is going to take a little time. But the deposition is the first place to start and I look forward to taking my turn with Hunter Biden on this.”
I’m still at sea. If the “accountant” has something juicy, why hasn’t he already been subpoenaed? And as far as “whistleblowers” are concerned, hasn’t the Committee already taken this route – to no avail? Or their whistleblowers disappearedor Come lied that they existed.
It is difficult for those who believe that truth has a role to play in public life, however remote, to understand how someone can go on a national cable show and lie to the point of absurdity. They should consider that recent converts are often the people most engaged in delusion. It’s like they’re making up for lost time.
