President Biden and Jill Biden’s Cat Willow Is Getting Ready for a Perfect Christmas as She’s Featured in a new video showcasing the White House holiday decor.
“Willow, you have snow on your fur!” Jill Biden exclaimed in the video posted Wednesday by Le Dodoas the first pet rolled in faux snowflakes adorning one of the holiday displays at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.Magic, wonder and joy» theme this year.
In the video, the 3-year-old gray feline is seen sneaking around the White House decorations, at one point curiously sniffing a life-size cat figurine meant to resemble him.
“It was truly incredible. She came to one of my speeches in a barn. She came and sat in the chair and listened to the speech,” the first lady recalled of coming face to face with Willow for the first time. Biden said she loved the cat after he jumped on stage and interrupted her during a 2020 speech during a campaign stop at a farm in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania.
The Bidens announced last year that they had welcomed Willow to the White House.
In The Dodo video, executive producer Joanna Zelman says she’s “never been so nervous about meeting a cat.”
But, Zelman said in a statement, the interaction with Willow ended up being the cat’s meow.
Willow, Zelman said, is “maybe the friendliest cat I’ve ever petted.” And I’ve petted a lot of cats.
This isn’t the first time the short-haired tabby cat has played the role of a sort of four-legged tour guide – she played in a video with The Dodo in 2022 when he arrives at the White House.
