White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and National Security Spokesperson John Kirby are scheduled to hold a daily press briefing Thursday afternoon.
The briefing comes as the Senate finished his work for the year on Wednesday and returned home for the holidays with no deal on funding for Ukraine or border security.
A group of Senate and White House negotiators plan to hold virtual meetings over the Christmas and New Year holidays on an emergency foreign aid package – but Congress is not expected to vote on anything until then next month.
The event is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. EST.
