White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is scheduled to give a press briefing Monday afternoon.
This comes after President Biden speak with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this weekend. The administration continued to call for a ceasefire in Israel’s war against Hamas, which could open wider channels for humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken is visiting countries in the region, advocating both the release of hostages by Hamas and respect for civilian lives by Israel.
Israel’s war against Hamas is having an increasingly visible effect in the United States, with pro-Israeli and pro-Palestinian groups competing mass protests at the University of California, Los Angeles, this weekend, for example.
Monday’s White House press briefing is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. EDT.
